Anyways, Happy Birthday Sely! Hope you have a fantastic one.

Work is still going well, mad busy though. Lots of trips to London at weekends to see Steve (Darren's guitarist) play so not much time at home. No plot bunnies either for a while. Tis not good.

This weekend I have been a just randomly trolling round the internet, and ended up reading a shitload of old threads on several Darren Hayes/Savage Garden forums. Quite intriguing and enlightening I must say. It's good to know that there has always been whinging, moaning, entitlement whoring, bitching, complaining, accusations of favouritism, people who refuse to accept that people disagree with them, flounces and woe is me-ness. Same shit, different names. I used to worry that as one of the 'new generation' of fans I was somehow to blame for the perceived 'changes' in the fandom. Now I'm coming to realise that the fandom doesn't really seem to change much at all, just people's investment in it and their position in it. People grow up, move on, and from what I've read the changes are more individual than wholesale.

But anyway, things are still fun. I do really need to write something soon, I miss writing. In fact, there are a couple of half started things on my hard drive, but I don't think they will go anywhere. I want to write something post-SG split I think.

I'm so lazy, I know.

Anyway, I am still alive. Haven't written anything in forever, although as I have a new job now that involves me not having to work at weekends, that may change.

Am obsessed with Darren Hayes' Time Machine Tour DVD. It's beyond lush, and every bit as good as I hoped it would be. The soundtrack is permanently on my mp3 player and I think will remain so for the near future.

On a random note, does anyone know what happened to WWE-SFO? Not that I've read wrestling fic for a while, but I noticed that it had disappeared.

I thought there would be an explosion of bitching and wankery when Darren wasn't around, but I think there's definitely more when he is around. Is nice to see Mr Diva back though. And I'm super-excited about the DVD. I've already got it pre-ordered in a couple of places and I'm hoping to get hold of the deluxe dvd too.

ETA I'm not talking about any particular drama, just more general fandom behaviour.

Much hilarity today, as I've been immersing myself in the drama of Rhyddian Roberts' fandom. It's just like Darrens, but with even more drama (although I'm expecting drama in D's fandom soon, it's inevitable while he's on a break).

Oh don't you adore it when Darren announces a tour. Dramatic overreactions galore, tears, tantrums, drama, bitching... nothing is ever simple.

If I get tickets, I'll be delighted. If I don't, I'll try to buy them off ebay. Either way, I'll do all I can to get there. There's no point in stressing and throwing hissyfits because the day of sale has changed.

I know one thing for sure, I'll miss him immensely during his 'hiatus'. I can't think of another artist who compares.

New fic posted over at my fic journal. Darren/Daniel fluff.

Hmmm, so my autographed copy finally arrived and its as beautiful as I imagined. I did squee like a complete fangirl.

I now have 5 copies. Two are for friends, three... why do I need three? One special edition which is specially kept 'somewhere safe', one copy for the car, and one for the house. hehehe.

I'm still totally in love with the CD. So in love it isn't funny. Listening to it all the time on the way to and fron work. Each song is so personal, yet so universal.

So anyway, I have a plot bunny.There seem to have been a fair few fics written recently, but I can't read any of them because I'm avoiding any songfics written around the new CD because I have this personal aversion at the moment. All the songs mean something so personal to me, I don't want that... I can't think of the right word, I would say 'tainted' but that's unfair on the writers who are writing songfics, I guess I don't want them mixed with something so special at the moment.

So yes, this plot bunny. It's based around the UK QAF. Darren is Vince, Daniel is Stuart (there is no Nathan at the moment). Darren as sci-fi nerd Vince is a given, Daniel as sex god Stuart is a bit more hard work, but I think it can be done. I'm actually really excited about it, which is odd given that I don't usually do AU and I don't know when the hell I'm actually going to get to write it.

The basic plot will be that D and D are childhood friends, the whole unrequited love thing... I'm playing with giving Darren a Cameron (a person who is so good to him and so good for him but Darren is so hung up on Daniel he can't accept what's being offered) but I'm not sure yet.

I think I'll set it in Manchester though, just because I know it so well it's easier to write. And if I stick to QAF's timeline of late 90s, that fits with SG too.

Townsend have already dispatched the special edition, and the autographed one is also winging its way to me.

I feel so enthused about this CD. It's re-ignited my love for music.
